According to latest report that surfaced online, Amazon may be working on a successor of its Echo speaker with more advance features.
The device pictures leaked by @evleaks of VentureBeat shows a rectangle-shaped box with a large touchscreen, equipped with a speaker at the bottom and a camera at the top. The design is explicitly different from first Echo that was launched in 2014, which has a cylindrical body.

While the specs of the upcoming Echo is still a misery, the UI hints at some possible features, these includes a weather widget, calendar, clock, and a suggestion window. It is suggested to comes with much-improved speakers when compare with its predecessor.
There is also a possibility of microphones residing within the speaker box for direct communication with Alexa. We expect more details to surface as time goes on.
