Alcatel made an appearance at the ongoing CES event in Las Vegas with a new entry-level phablet that is thin, light, but misses on real estate on the inside apart from the Android OS version it runs. The A3 XL as named features a 6-inch touch display but with a HD (1280×720) resolution, rounding up the pixel density to a mere 244ppi.
Under the hood, it is powered by a quad-core MediaTek MT8735B with a clock speed of 1.1GHz, slammed with 1GB of RAM and Mali-T720 GPU. The phone includes an 8GB of built-in storage, which can be further expanded up to 32GB via MicroSD card.

Notably, the 7.9mm thick phablet runs Google’s latest Android 7.0 Nougat out-of-the-box, the first phablet to ever did. In photography, it is equipped with an 8-megapixel autofocus rear-facing camera with LED flash, and a 5-megapixel front camera for taking selfie, also accompanied with a LED flash. The A3 XL offers 4G LTE, 3G, Bluetooth, WiFi, and GPS as connectivity options. It is backed by a 3000mAh battery.
The Alcatel A3 XL will be available in selected markets including Asia, North America, and Africa at a price of US$200. It is expected to go on sale before second quarter of 2017.
