Npower Stipends -Everything You Should Know About N-Power June/July Stipends

The Npower beneficiaries are yet to receive their June and July Stipends. This is after the Federal Minister of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management, and Social Development Sadiya Farouq stated that the June stipend has been approved. The Minister of Humanitarian affairs stated about two weeks ago that the volunteers will be paid their stipend by last week but nothing has been done since then.

The N-Power graduate beneficiaries are paid a monthly stipend of N30, 000, making a total of fifteen billion Naira (N15,077,400,000) being budgeted as remuneration by the Nigerian government for June stipends has not been paid to both Batch A and Batch B beneficiaries. Batch A exited the N-Power program on June 30.

The Batch B enrollees who officially exited the scheme on Friday, 31st of July, 2020, haven’t been paid both their June and July stipends.

The Minister of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management and Social Development, Sadiya Farouq stated at a press briefing in Abuja that no fewer than 502,580 youths have been genuinely enrolled in the Social Investment Programme(N-SIP) of the federal government. According to Farouq, the N-Power program is aimed at driving skill development and job creation for unemployed youths between the ages of 18 and 35.

While explaining the delay in June payment, Farouq said;

“After receiving complaints of non-payment by some beneficiaries, who did same through the ministry, the OAGF (GIFMIS) officially wrote informing the ministry that out of a total of Five Hundred and Sixteen Thousand, Six Hundred (516,600) N-Power beneficiaries data sent to OAGF for migration in April 2020, only a total of Five Hundred and Two Thousand, Five Hundred and Eighty data have successfully migrated to the GIFMIS platform,”

Now, with 9 days gone in the month of August already, beneficiaries are still waiting to be paid for June and July.

Since the National Social Investment Programme (N-SIP) was transferred to the Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management and Social Development in October 2019, N-Power beneficiaries’ pay has not been regular, this is according to the beneficiaries for the scheme.
