Acer Launches Chromebook 11 11.6″ Laptop with USB Type-C, 4GB RAM

Acer today made a new addition to its Chrome-powered laptops at the CES 2018 event. The Chromebook 11 as called, is an entry-level device that will appeals to low-end users in terms of features and functionality.

The laptop is offered in two models—the first version which has a model number CB311-8H features an 11.6-inch HD (1366×768) display that lacks touch-responsiveness, while the second version with the model number CB311-8HT features the same display properties but has a capacitive touchscreen. Both the touch and non-touch versions are identical in terms of specs and design.

A dual-core Intel Celeron N3350 processor powered the device on the inside, clubbed with 4GB of RAM, 16GB of eMMC storage and integrated Intel HD Graphics. Acer is also offering a quad-core Intel Celeron N3450 variant with 32GB of storage for those who are willing to spend more. A MicroSD slot is provided to expand the limited inbuilt storage up to 128GB.

Chromebook 11 CB311-8HT

The Chromebook 11 (CB311-8H/CB311-8HT) has an HDR webcam; is preloaded with dual stereo speakers for defining sounds, and comes embedded with a microphone. It also comes pre-installed with Google Play Store for direct access to thousands of Games and Applications. Connectivity onboard are Bluetooth 4.2, WiFi 802.11ac (2×2 MIMO), 2x USB 3.1 Type-C ports, and 2x USB 3.0 Type-A ports. According to Acer, the battery included can deliver 10 hours of usage time in a single charge.

The Chromebook 11 (CB311-8H/CB311-8HT) will be available in Blue color option only. It will first go on sale in EMEA (Europe, Middle East and Africa) regions in March for €249 ($298) and from there will heads to North America in April with a price label of $249.
