Steps to Download Facebook Videos on Your Android Device
- Visit Google Play Store to download ES File Explorer which is an app for transferring the videos you’ve downloaded from Facebook to your phone’s Photos app –Although optional, transferring your downloaded Facebook videos to your Photos app saves you the need to use the ES File Manager in opening the videos. You’ll instead view the videos directly in your Photos app.
- After downloading and installing ES File Explorer from Google Play Store, ensure you leave the Google Play Store tab open
- Launch Facebook and open your News Feed by clicking the f-shaped Facebook icon
- Once you’re successfully logged into Facebook, simply scroll to the Facebook video you wish to download –if you don’t find the video in your News Feed, you may explore the Facebook profile of the video owner, possibly the person who shared it to Facebook
- Before you proceed with the download, verify that the video is downloadable. If the video is in “public” mode, it is downloadable but if otherwise, you’ll not be able to download it. For a Facebook video in “public” mode, the page or name of the video sharer will bear a globe icon under it. However if the video isn’t public, the page or name will bear a lock icon or a silhouette rather than display the said globe icon
- Given that the video is downloadable, you may proceed by clicking the video
- Doing so will open the video
- Then, click the Share button located just down the playing video
- From the emerging list of options, select Copy Link so that you’re able to copy the video’s address
- With that done, launch Chrome browser on your Android device
- Input the keywords “savefrom.net” in the address bar of the browser
- Click the Go or Enter button on your screen
- Once you’ve landed on the homepage of Savefrom.net, click the text field you see. This text field is denoted with “Enter the URL” and is situated close to the top of the homepage
- Then, paste the video address (you copied initially) in the text field –beware of the ad pop-ups that might accompany this. Don’t make the mistake of clicking them
- To simply download the pasted Facebook video, click the green-coloured Download button under the preview of the video (Note that you’ll be automatically downloading the video in the best video format available. However if you wish to specify your desired video format, click the MP4 HD box beside the green-coloured Download box and select your desired format
- The next step is to go out of the Chrome browser and then launch the ES File Explorer app you downloaded initially
- You’ll have to flick past some intro pages (if it’s your first installation of the ES File Explorer) before you’re able to proceed with saving the downloaded video on your Android phone
- Specify your preferred storage –you can choose any of SD Card and Internal storage
- Within the ES File Explorer, navigate to the Downloads folder and open it –some Android phones display this folder as a separate folder named Download and it contains your downloaded Facebook videos and other downloaded files
- To transfer your downloaded Facebook video to Android’s Photos app, click and hold the video
- Doing this will prompt a menu which you can see in the bottom or top right-hand side of your Android’s screen
- Select Move to from this menu
- From the resulting location selection window, choose DCIM
- Having explored this DCIM, select Camera from the list of options
- Select the OK button to complete the video transfer
