After tons of rumours being dumped online in the past few weeks, Motorola today has officially pull the wraps off its much-awaiting smartphones, Moto C and Moto C Plus, the company’s cheapest and lowest-specd smartphones in 2017. Both running Android 7.0 Nougat out-of-the-box.
As can be expected, both device looks identical on the surface though one is slightly slimmer and lighter than the other, there specs however are explicitly different. Lets start from Moto C, it features a 4.5-inch FWVGA (854×450) touch display and is powered by a quad-core MediaTek MT6737 chipset, which is clocked at 1.1GHz, slammed with 1GB of RAM and Mali-T720 GPU.

To give users more satisfaction and flexibility when making their choice, Motorola (or should we say Lenovo) is offering the phone in two storage variants, 8GB and 16GB. Both variants can be further pushed up to 32GB via MicroSD slots included. The specs takes entry-level U-turn in optics. Gallantly sitting at the back is a 5-megapixel camera with LED flash, capable of recording HD (720p) video, while a 2-megapixel camera with LED flash is signed up for taking selfie.
The Moto C comes with the usual connectivity such as 4G LTE (optional), Bluetooth, WiFi, 3G, and GPS. It measures 145.5×73.6x9mm, weighs 154 grams, and packs a 2,350mAh battery behind.
The Moto C Plus on the other hand is hopeful and more attractive in terms of specifications, especially in battery, camera, and RAM compartments. The screen has been bump up to 5-inch, flaunting HD pixel resolution of 1280×720. While Motorola is still keeping the MediaTek MT6737 chipset and Mali-T720 GPU that is featured on its junior, the clock speed has been further tuned up and is now running faster at 1.3GHz.
Customers are given the options to choose between 1GB or 2GB of RAM, both accompanied with 16GB of expandable storage. The Moto C Plus sports an 8-megapixel autofocus rear-facing camera with f/2.2 aperture and LED flash, while a 2-megapixel camera is equipped at the front with a selfie flash placed besides it as well.
The superiority of Moto C Plus is made manifest in its gigantic 4000mAh battery, which should be able to last for two days if used lightly. It is heavier at 162 grams and thicker at 144×72.3x10mm. Connectivity options remains the same with Moto C.
The Moto C and C Plus comes in variety of colors including Pearl White, Fine Gold, Metallic Cherry, and Starry Black. The 3G version of Moto C can be purchase for just €89 ($97) while €10 ($11) will need to be added to pick up the LTE version. The Moto C Plus pricing starts at €119 ($130) for the basic version with 1GB of RAM.
These smartphones will be available in multiple regions including Asia, Europe, and Latin America when it go on sale.
