Acer has launched new range of Swift laptops and 2-in-1 convertible Switch notebooks at a special event organized by the firm in New York, the Swift 1 (2017), Swift 3 (2017), Switch 3, and Switch 5, all running Windows 10 out-of-the-box. The new 2017 edition of Swift 1 and Swift 3 are here to replace their predecessors that were released in late 2016, while the later two are completely new in the fold.
The Swift 1 (2017) is the cheapest and the less powerful in the list. It comes with a 13.1-inch full-HD (1080p) display and it can be configured with Intel Celeron or Pentium processor depending on buyers preference. It has an all metal-chassis, is 14.95mm thick, and weighs 1.3kg.

The Swift 3 (2017) comes with a sleek slim brushed-aluminium body design that weighs just 1.8kg. It packs up to 7th-Gen Intel Core i7 processor with up to 8GB of RAM and 512GB of SSD, while the graphics is handled by a dedicated NVIDIA GeForce GPU or integrated Intel HD Graphics depending on variant. Acer is also offering a special edition with Gorilla Glass protection.

Moving on, the Switch 3 and Switch 5 are convertible, meaning, they can be use in different modes depending on users preferred choice in a given environment. The keyboards of these laptops are detachable and their display are touch-enabled. With Acer Active Pen (available separately), users can take notes or sketch by writing on the screen. Both has auto-retracting kickstands that can be use to position the display in various angle and fingerprint reader onboard works smoothly with Windows Hello (on Switch 5). Acer is touting fanless design of both device.
