With CES almost rounding up, Asus has listed a new Android tablet on its website, the FonePad 7 (FE171CG). The tablet is an upgraded version of Asus FonePad 7 (FE170CG) that was launched earlier last year. The listing does not reveal its pricing and availability but it may set sail in the coming weeks.

According to the specs listed, the FonePad 7 (FE171CG) features a 7-inch IPS display with a resolution of 1024×600 pixels. It offers dual-SIM (GSM+GSM) functionality with 3G support, and runs Android 4.4 KitKat out-of-the-box. The device is powered by a dual-core Intel Atom Z2520 processor with a clock speed of 1.2GHz, coupled with 1GB or 2GB of RAM (region dependent).

The FonePad 7 (FE171CG) comes in two storage variants; 8GB and 16GB, both of which are expandable via MicroSD card. It sports an 8-megapixel rear camera that is capable of recording HD (720p) video, and a 2-megapixel front-facing camera for video calling. Connectivity options included are WiFi, DLNA, Bluetooth, GPRS/EDGE and Micro-USB. Battery onboard is said to last up to 11.5 hours on a single charge.
The tablet measure 110.6x196x7.9mm and weight 280 grams. It will be available in four different colours – White, Red, Gold, and Black when it go on sale.
