Asus Zenfone Go TV

Asus has introduced a new mid-budget smartphone under its Zenfone family named Zenfone Go TV, with the model name ZB551KL. Unlike other Zenfone smartphones launched in the past, the new device comes with a built-in IC SMT-EW100 TV chip made by Sony that allows users to watch local TV stations on-the-go without internet connection, its major highlight. The company is offering 100GB of free Google Drive cloud storage for two years with every purchase.

In terms of specifications, the Zenfone Go TV features a 5.5-inch IPS capacitive touch display with HD (1280×720) resolution, and is powered by a quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 processor clocked at 1.2GHz, alongside with 2GB of RAM and Adreno 305 GPU. It runs Android 5.1 Lollipop out-of-the-box topped with the company ZenUI and offers dual SIM functionality with dual-stanby. There is a 16GB of storage inside for offline hosting of data and files, which is further expandable via MicroSD card.

In photography, the phone sports a 13-megapixel autofocus rear camera enhance with Asus PixelMaster technology, accompanied with dual-tone LED flash, and there is a secondary 5-megapixel camera at the front for taking selfie. Connectivity options included are 4G LTE, Bluetooth 4.0, WiFi with Hotspot, 3G, 2G, GPS and Micro-USB. It is backed by a 3010mAh battery.

The Asus Zenfone Go TV (ZB551KL) has go on sale in Taiwan with a price tag of NT$ 5,490 ($169 USD). Availability for other markets is unknown.
