Qualcomm hosted its second annual SnapdragonSummit event in Maui, Hawaii on Tuesday where it announced new range of products in partnership with other high-profile technology companies. The major and most interesting of these announcements is the launching of its next generation Snapdragon 845 Mobile Platform and the introduction of Snapdragon-powered Windows 10 PCs.
At the event, Asus made the official unveiling of its first Snapdragon-powered laptop called NovaGo. The laptop is claimed as the world’s first to supports Gigabit LTE, this is made possible by Snapdragon 835 chipset that powered the device. It has a slim body profile and includes all the hardwares that are seen on other Asus mid-range laptops.

The NovaGo features a 13.3-inch screen that is touch sensitive, boasting a brilliant Full HD (1920×1080) resolution with 10-point multitouch supports. The display can be rotated up to 360-degree to use in different modes themed to cater for different environment. An optional Asus Pen with 1024 levels of pressure sensitivity is also made available for taking note, drawing and doing other tasks that required a pen. Furthermore, the laptop display is treated with Asus Eye Care to prevent eye strain during use.
Asus is offering the NovaGo in three different options; 4GB RAM+64GB storage version which is the cheapest, 8GB RAM+128GB storage version, and 8GB RAM+256GB storage version, all of which includes MicroSD slots to further expand the limited storage up to 256GB. A Nano SIM tray is also provide to make use of the device Gigabit LTE.
For connectivity, the device supports WiFi 802.11ac (dual band + MIMO), 2x USB 3.1 Type-A ports, HDMI port, 3.5mm audio jack, and DX-in in addition to MicroSD card reader. It is fuelled by a 52Wh Li-Po battery that can render up to 22 hours of usage time and 30 days of standby time.
The Asus NovaGo will be available in the United States through network carriers (T-Mobile, Verizon, Sprint) and also in other select markets including the United Kingdom, France, Germany, Italy, Taiwan and China. The basic model with 4GB RAM+64GB storage will costs US$599, while the 8GB RAM+128GB storage model price is pegged at US$799.
