Asus has announced a new variant of its Zenfone 2 smartphone earlier today named Zenfone 2 Special Edition. Unlike other versions, the new device packs a 256GB of built-in storage which is further expandable via a dedicated MicroSD card slot. Also, it comes with a 4GB of RAM.
The Zenfone 2 Deluxe Special Edition was first launched in Brazil in August last year. However, the model released in Brazil is slightly different from the one announced today. The first packs a quad-core Intel Atom Z3580 processor while the new model comes with a quad-core Intel Atom Z3590 processor, both clocked at 2.5GHz. Also, both differs in color variants.

The Zenfone 2 Deluxe Special Edition that was launched in Brazil sports Illusion White with Red and Black with Red color accents, while the one announced today has a swappable covers painted in Drift Silver and Carbon Night colors, with 3D polygonal patterns.
Other specifications remains the same, these includes 5.5-inch full-HD (1920 x 1080 pixels) display with Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection, 13-megapixel with dual-tone LED flash, 5-megapixel front camera and 3,000mAh battery. Asus is yet to reveal its pricing and availability details.
