Now more than ever, it’s critical that the cover glass provides outstanding protection. Corning Gorilla Glass 6 improves upon Gorilla® Glass 5 by surviving drops from higher heights, but, more importantly, has been engineered to survive multiple drops.
The Gorilla Glass 6 is claimed by the firm to be two times better than Gorilla Glass 5. Furthermore, Corning revealed its new protective glass solution in in its labs test survived 15 drops from a height of 1 meter onto rough surfaces, beating other competitive glass solutions by a land slide.
The Gorilla Glass 6 is also said to have been optimized for devices with glass back application, especially the ones embracing the wireless charging standard; providing optical clarity, touch sensitivity, scratch resistant and durability in addition.
The new Gorilla Glass 6 is currently being evaluated by multiple customers and will reach the consumer markets in the coming months.
