Meizu M3E with 5.5″ FHD display, Helio P10, 3GB RAM Officially Launched

Meizu has made a new addition to its “M3” smartphone series in China called M3E, a more powerful variant of m3s that was introduced in June. The company has again decided to abandon Android for its latest flagship and has opted for YunOS instead.

In physical aspect, the phone is clad in a full metal body that measure 7.9mm at its thinness point, bearing an overall weight of 172 grams which is quite heavy, but on the positive side this is due to 3100mAh battery it packs behind and its large display. At the front is a crisp 5.5-inch LTPS 2.5D curved display boasting a full-HD (1920×1080) resolution and 450 nits of brightness. It is powered by an octa-core MediaTek Helio P10 processor clocked at 1.8GHz, slammed with 3GB of RAM and Mali-T860 GPU.

The Meizu M3E comes with a 32GB of built-in storage with support of external MicroSD expansion slot (up to 128GB). The YunOS it runs is further enhanced with Flyme UI, and there are hybrid dual-SIM slots onboard that allow users to use the second SIM slot as a MicroSD card slot. Also, the device sports a fingerprint sensor at the back that makes use of the company’s proprietary mTouch 2.1 software for smart lock and unlock.

Sitting at the rear is a 13-megapixel camera with Phase Detection Auto Focus (PDAF), Sony IMX258 sensor and twin-tone LED flash, while a 5-megapixel camera with f/2.0 aperture is equipped at the front. The phone offers Bluetooth 4.1, WiFi, 4G LTE + VoLTE, 3G, 2G, and GPS/A-GPS as connectivity options.

The Meizu M3E is priced at CNY 1299 ($195 USD). It is available for pre-orders in Gold, Champagne Gold, Silver, Gray, and Glacial Blue colours, and will start unloading from 14th of August.
