Samsung Galaxy Book Hybrid 2-in-1 Windows 10 Tablet with LTE Announced

Along with the newly launched Galaxy Tab S3, Samsung at its press conference also unveiled a new 2-in-1 hybrid tablet running full Windows 10 operating system. The Galaxy Book as named is offered in two display variants, 10.6-inch (TFT) and 12-inch (Super AMOLED), the first having a full-HD (1920×1280) resolution while the later comes with 2160×1440 pixel resolution.

The tablet is wrapped in a sleek slim metal body that is 8.9mm thick, and weighs only 640 grams on the 10.6-inch version. The 12-inch version however is thinner at 7.4mm and heavier at 754 grams. Samsung is offering the two display variants in Wifi-only and LTE versions.

Other technical specs includes 2.7GHz 7th-gen Intel core m3 processor with 4GB RAM and 5MP front camera camera for the 10.6-inch variant; and 3.15GHz 7th-gen Intel core i5 processor with up to 8GB of RAM, 13MP rear camera and 5MP front camera for the 12.0-inch variant. In storage compartment, the Galaxy Book 10.6-inch houses 128GB of eMMC storage while Samsung includes up to 256GB SSD on the larger 12-inch display version, both accompanied with MicroSD slots.

The Galaxy Book comes pre-loaded with Samsung suite of apps and Microsoft Office applications. Bundled along is a well-spaced keyboard that can be docked and a S Pen stylus. Connectivity options included are 4G LTE Cat.6 with up to 300Mbps download speed (optional), Bluetooth 4.1 LE, WiFi 802.11ac (dual band + MIMO), GPS, GLONASS, and USB Type-C (1x for 10.6-inch/2x for 12-inch). The tablets are fuelled by 30.4W and 39.04W battery with fast charging respectively, capable of rendering up to 10 hours of use in a single charge.

Samsung is yet to reveal the pricing and availability details of these device.
