Asus is gearing up to add a new smartphone to its “ZenFone” portfolio in few days time. The ZenFone 3S Max (ZC521TL) as named, will be here as a successor to ZenFone 3 Max that was released in mid last year. It still retain most of the specs its predecessor possessed including the display, RAM and rear camera, while the processor, battery, and the front camera have been upgraded. Perhaps, the most exciting thing is it runs Android 7.0 Nougat out-of-the-box with the firm’s proprietary ZenUI 3.0 layed on top.
According to specs that were revealed, the ZenFone 3S Max features a 5.2-inch 2.5D curved display flaunting a HD resolution of 1280×720 pixel, with bluelight filter embedded within the display to minimize damage to the eye due to blue light rays. Under the hood, it is powered by an octa-core MediaTek MT6750 chipset with 3GB RAM and Mali-T860 GPU, an upgrade from MediaTek MT6737 chipset and 2GB RAM when compare with ZenFone 3 Max. It also house a fingerprint sensor beneath the home button.

A 32GB of storage is placed inside and there is a MicroSD expansion slot onboard via the second hybrid SIM slot to further expand the storage; with support of up to 2TB. The ZenFone 3S Max bears a 13-megapixel rear camera with f/2.0 aperture and twin-LED flash, while an 8-megapixel selfie camera is mounted to the front. Connectivity options included are 4G LTE, Bluetooth, WiFi, 3G, 2G, and GPS/A-GPS.
The phone is powered by a huge 5000mAh battery with reverse charging. That is an additional 900mAh capacity when compare with ZenFone 3 Max 4100mAh battery. It will be available in Black and Gold colours when it officially launched in India on February 7 which is next week.
