New Asus ZenFone Zoom Appeared with Dual Rear Cameras, May Launch in 2017

Asus may be planning to launch a new smartphone under its “ZenFone” line-up by early next year according to a new device that surface online. The ZenFone 3 Zoom (ZE553KL) as named, made an appearance on Chinese certification site TENAA with most of its specifications and images listed as well.

TENAA, which happens to be one of the reliable reputable source of upcoming phones in China revealed that the new Asus phone will be harboring dual rear-facing cameras, the first of its kind when looking into the family tree of this device. The ZenFone Zoom family is one of Asus top portfolio when it comes to photography on mobile, but so far, there isn’t any yet in this family that boasts of dual rear cameras until now.

There is a 12.2-megapixel camera and a secondary 13-megapixel camera at the back with twin- tone LED flash placed below it. The cameras are said to offer Phase Detection Auto Focus (PDAF). There is also a 13-megapixel camera equipped at the front for selfie. The ZenFone 3 Zoom (Z553KL) will features a 5.5-inch full-HD (1920×1080) AMOLED display and will be powered by an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 processor. It is expected to come in 2GB RAM, 3GB RAM and 4GB RAM versions with 16GB, 32GB, and 64GB storage respectively.

There will be Android 6.0 Marshmallow onboard to handle all software’s activities with the company’s Zen UI on top. Other features to be included are Hybrid dual SIM slots, rear-placed Fingerprint sensor, and a 5000mAh battery. Asus is yet to confirm the existence of this device but we should know more as time pass by.
