OPPO is expected to announce a new phone at a special event scheduled for later today in France. The Find X as called, will be arriving with an outstanding screen-to-body ratio which OPPO hint will be near 94%, the first ever seen on a mobile. Ahead of the event, The Verge has revealed what is to be expected including full renders and specifications of the smartphone.
According to our source, the upcoming OPPO Find X will have a pop-up slider at the top which will accommodate the front and rear cameras, and a distinct 3D facial mapper for biometric identification. This is to be expected of course, since the phone will have no notch or top bezel to place these hardware. Without the slider it will be difficult indeed to achieve the forecasted screen-to-body ratio.
Incase you are wondering how the slider work, basically, its pretty simple. By default, the slider is hidden and only when you launch the camera app or want to unlock the phone with your face that it will pop up. There are two cameras on the back in 16MP+20MP configuration, while a single 25MP camera reside at the front. The full details of the cameras are not known yet, but we should know more when it launch.
The Find X is not only going to be pretty but powerful as well if the rumors turned out to be true. It is expected to be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 chipset paired with up to 8GB of RAM and up to 256GB of internal storage. ColorOS based on Android 8.1 Oreo will run the software and there will be a 3730mAh battery behind with support for VOOC Flash Charge.
Moreover, the phone will use an AMOLED panel that is 6.4-inch size, with the pixel resolution set at 2340×1080. Disappointingly, it is said not to come with a fingerprint sensor. Guess we will have to wait to find out about that as well.
