Asus ZenFone V Launches On Verizon in the US, Costs $384

A new ZenFone smartphone made by Asus dubbed ZenFone V has launched in the United States exclusively on Verizon Wireless, one of the major network distributor in the region. The device touts high-end specifications and is partially closed to the global ZenFone 5 in certain features though their specs greatly differs in major aspects.

The ZenFone V with the model number V520KL is clad in a slim metal body that weighs just 147 grams. It features a 5.2-inch AMOLED 2.5D curved glass display with a pixel resolution of 1920×1080 (full-HD), protected by Corning Gorilla Glass, and under the hood is a 64-bit quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 14nm chipset running at a speed of up to 2.2GHz, clubbed with 4GB of RAM and Adreno 530 GPU.

It includes a 32GB of inbuilt storage, which can be further expanded up to 128GB via MicroSD card. In optics, the ZenFone V sports 23-megapixel rear-facing camera with f/2.0 aperture and twin-tone LED flash that can record up to 4K video, while an 8-megapixel selfie camera is equipped at the front.

The phone runs Android 7.0 Nougat out-of-the-box and offers Bluetooth 4.1, WiFi 802.11ac, 4G LTE, 3G, GPS, and USB 2.0 Type-C as connectivity options. It is powered by a 3000mAh battery. Other features includes ZenMotion, which allows users to double-tap the screen to wake or put the phone to sleep and to use customized gesture to quickly access installed programs, even in sleep mode.

The ZenFone V will be available on Verizon in the US for $16 per month on two years (24 months) contract, or for $384 off-contract when it go on sale later this month.
