Acer Announced Aspire R14 Convertible Windows 10 Tablet With Intel Skylake

Acer has launched its first 2-in-1 Windows 10 convertible tablet, the Aspire R14 (R5-431T / 471T), at an event in Taipei today, in partnership with Microsoft. The device has a sleek diamond-cut metallic finish and thin hinges that can rotate up to 360-degree.

Four different modes included offers flexibility in day-to-day use, these are mainly created to adjust the keyboard to fit users working environment. The magnet confined engineering body also allow the device to be completely converted to a tablet. In terms of specifications, the Aspire R14 features a 14-inch HD (1366 x 768 pixels) display and packed a 6th generation Intel Core (Skylake) processor, the same that powered Microsoft Surface Pro 4.

It supports up to 8GB of DDR3L RAM, and a SSD storage sits on the inside (no details about this yet). The hybrid tablet has dual digital microphone enhanced by Acer Purified, which remove background noise and improve voice clarity for satisfying Cortana experience. In connectivity compartment, the Aspire R14 supports Bluetooth 4.1, WiFi 802.11ac (further improved with MU-MIMO technology), and other known ports.

It will be available in North America from late October at a starting price of $699, and in EMEA (Europe, Middle East and Africa) Regions from late October as well, starting at €799 ($908).

Acer also launched a new AIO (All In One) PC dubbed Aspire Z3-700, which also runs Windows 10 out-of-the-box. It features 17.3-inch full-HD (1920 x 1080 pixels) touch-sensitive display with up 10-point multitouch, Intel Pentium or Celeron processor, up to 8GB DDR3L RAM, SSD or HDD, and a stylus pen.
