The TUF FX505DY and TUF FX705DY are Asus latest gaming laptops that have just been announced at the annual CES event that begins today. Both powered by powerful AMD CPUs, the TUF FX505DY brings with it a 15.6-inch Full HD (1920×1080) NanoEdge IPS display with a 120Hz refresh rate, while the TUF FX705DY comes with a larger 17.3-inch screen with the same display properties and technology, but features a lower 60Hz refresh rate. Image stuttering and tearing are eradicated by FreeSync technology that are brought by the processor.
Powering the smaller of the two is an AMD Ryzen 5 3550H quad-core mobile processor with a base speed of 2.1GHz that can turbo boost up to 3.7GHz, coupled with Radeon RX 560X integrated GPU and up to 32GB of DDR4 RAM (2666GHz). Up to 512GB of NVMe SSD and up to 1TB of FireCuda SSHD serve as the onboard storage. The TUF FX705DY shared the same processor, graphics and storage as the FX505DY, however.

Other common properties that the new Asus gaming laptops shared are MIL-STD 810G military standard for their ruggedness and toughness, full-size backlit keyboard, and DTX Headphone:X with 7.1 channel virtual surround sound for immersive gaming experience. Some models such as the Red matter model glows red at the trim of the keyboard, while there is a special Gold Steel model that comes with a fully customizable RGB keyboard.
The laptops runs Windows 10 OS out-of-the-box. Connectivity options provided are 2x USB 3.1 Gen 1, USB 2.0, HDMI 2.0 port, Ethernet port, and WiFi 802.11ac. The TUF FX505DY measures 14.2″ x 10.3″ x 0.98″, weighs 2.19kgs and is fuelled by a 48Wh battery, while the TUF FX705DY measures 15.7″ x 11″ x 1.06″, weighs 2.5kgs, and draw its power from a 64Wh battery.
Asus does not revealed their pricing and availability, but said it will vary by region.
