Asus has official taken the wraps off its latest smartwatch that has been severally rumoured this year at the ongoing IFA event in Berlin, the ZenWatch 3, an upgraded version and the successor of ZenWatch 2. The new watch comes with a circular AMOLED display (1.39-inch in diameter to be precise), boasting a 400×400 pixel resolution. As could be guess, it runs Android Wear OS, which gives it the ability to be paired with smartphones running Android and iOS.

Asus is teasing the ZenWatch 3 premium and rugged body design, the premium being emphasized on its crafted jewelry-grade 316L stainless steel and its ruggedness on the strength of the stainless steel, which is 9.95mm thick. It comes with interchangeable leather straps that can be swap, and it is water and dust resistant with IP67 ratings.
Apart from being notify of incoming alerts when paired with a smartphone, the ZenWatch 3 comes pre-installed with ZenFit app that enable users to track and monitor their daily activities.
Regarding technical specs, the ZenWatch 3 is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon Wear 2100 processor coupled with 512MB of RAM. It includes a 4GB of eMMC storage and offers Bluetooth 4.1 LE and WiFi connectivity. It comes with 6-axis accelerometer/gyroscope and Ambient Light sensors, and is fuelled by a 340mAh battery that can charge up to 60% in 15 minutes with the onboard HyperCharge technology.
The Asus ZenWatch 3 is painted in Rose, Gunmetal, and Silver colors, and will start rolling out from October at a starting price of €229 ($254 USD).
